Victoria is a wonderful student at the ELL Parent Center that came from Russia only about two months ago. Victoria explained the “morality and spirit” of Russia in a negative light. She explains Russia as having no freedom, especially in terms of speech. She left Moscow nearly two months ago with her husband. They decided to make the pilgrimage to the United States for their daughter. They wanted a better future for her, so that she’d have the chance to grow up in a place with freedom and better opportunities. Victoria loves America because of the comfort in its freedom and the abundance of opportunity it offers. When she came to America, she wasted no time in fulfilling her hunger to learn English. Even though she has only been here for a couple of months, she is currently communicating in English on an extraordinary level.
Victoria is grateful to the ELL Parent Center for helping her learn English. She loves the Center and what it has helped her accomplish. She has gained lots of confidence because of her English education. She has taken ESL, Reading for Healthy Families, and is currently taking Intensive English. The Center has helped Victoria improve her reading, writing and ability to speak in English. If you talked to Victoria, you would think that she had been in America for years and that speaks for itself.
